Art Gallery Fabrics – Yum :)

Hey, did you enter yesterday’s giveaway for a chance to win 6 fat quarters of California Girl fabric? Get going!

So the cool kids over at Hantex Ltd sent me some lovely Art Gallery Fabrics to have a play with:

They’re really lovely, aren’t they? They’re very silky and my pictures really don’t do them justice – the colours are rich and so, so beautiful. I took them to my local quilt shop, Green Hill, to let Naomi and Julie have a play – part of my plan to get them to carry some of Bari J’s and Pat Sloan’s lovely fabrics!

While I was in there I picked up a couple of really vibrant fat quarters – lately I’ve actually felt like sewing again (finally!) and I can never resist bright, loud fabrics. So I think I’ll team them up with these more muted shades and make some notebook covers:

I’m thinking just a tiny strip of the bright fabrics, surrounded by the Art Gallery fabrics. Mary from handmade by Mary Emmens helpfully reminded me that Cindy of Fluffy Sheep Quilting wrote a notebook cover tutorial recently for Sarah @ Fairy Face’s Sew Get Started series! Woohoo! There are lots of tutorials over there now, including one by yours truly. Sew Let’s Go Get Started!

P.S. Because the Google Overlords want to force the entire planet into using their crazy social application, my Google Friend Connect widget has been cancelled. But you can still get me in your Google Reader (or any other reader) by clicking on the Feedburner (RSS) link below. :)
