My Big Score At The Knitting & Stitching Show

Ok, so I usually don’t post on Sundays, but this is kinda a special one. I WILL post my pics of the cool stuff I saw, but this one is just for all the yarn & stuff I bought at the Knitting and Stitching Show in London. I spent WAY too much money, but then I’ll be good for yarn till next year!

So this is my booty. Yeah, I know, there’s a lot of it. Don’t start.

Isn’t it lovely? I bought a poop ton of Fyberspates – that stuff is GORGEOUS!

I bought 2 kinds of sparkly purple sock yarn – one for me and (possibly) one for Shanna. I adore them both so she gets to pick which one she wants. And if she doesn’t like either, well I’ll have a few purple socks to knit while I recover from surgery…what a shame 😉

I bought some Zauberball black and grey for socks for Buzz and maybe Savi if it goes far enough. Cute, eh? The ladies at Twist Yarns are absolutely lovely.

Some merino and silk Scrumptious fyberspates for Shanna – one of them is in a ball already – long story.

And this is some merino and silk homespun for my sister Nina, who is my communications manager. She wants a hat for Xmas. So do you like this, Nina? Or I can get something different?

I bought some of that crazy netting-like yarn type stuff (Katia Triana) for Savi to make herself a scarf – she’s already got pretty far! I’m so proud she’s ‘knitting’ *sniff, sniff*.

I bought some of that Rowan scarf yarn too – it was pretty expensive (£16!) but oh gosh, it’s SO beautiful and soft.

And I needed to try some metal needles on my circulars . I’m gonna try this pattern from Ravelry for Nina’s hat but instead of using dpns I’m gonna try to do it using Magic Loop or maybe 2 circulars if that fails. And that’s my very first pair of Addis!

So I’d say I had a pretty successful day at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace. And I didn’t even buy any fabric, if you can believe that.

See you tomorrow for Manic Monday Linky Party!

  1. Ok Jenna, I’m in line right behind Cecily. I am soooo jealous… all that yarny goodness. Congrats on the excellent retail therapy (and I’m not saying one word about your booty). lol

  2. What a lovely mixture but I really can’t believe that you didn’t buy any fabric. What restraint 🙂 Looking forward to seeing your knitting projects. I’ve used the kidsilk haze for a scarf before that I felted with kind of a shibori effect at each end. As you say expensive but worth it.

  3. What an awesome haul! I love Addi needles – they are all that I knit with no matter the project – you are going to love them. Looks like you will be nice and busy while you recover from your surgery. 🙂
