Manic Monday Linky Party

I kinda owe you guys an apology, although I’m not sure anyone noticed (besides Melissa – nothing ever gets by her)  – I took last Tuesday, Thursday and Friday off without notice. Tuesday was supposed to be baby quilt tutorial day, but the photo shoot pics were still on my hubby’s laptop, so although I wrote it, I couldn’t publish it as it’s usually helpful to know what it looks like before you make it! Thursday was…one of those ‘meh’ days. Friday was my trip to the Stitch & Craft Show at Olympia, which I’ll tell you about on Wednesday. This Friday, I’ll have double features to make up for last week.

To be honest, I’ve been fighting burnout recently. I go into my sewing room, look around, and feel apathetic about every WIP I’ve got. I’m not sure what my problem is. Maybe I need a holiday? So in order to recharge my batteries, I’ll take next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off. (I think.) But I’ll still be doing Manic Monday and Feature Friday, so don’t worry about that. I’m hoping the Mini Quilt Competition I’m starting to organise will get my creative muse singing again.

Linky Party Rules:

  • You can link anything you’ve created – an etsy shop, blog or tutorial, whatever.
  • You can leave up to 2 links
  • Please visit at least one other link and comment!
  • I’ll be featuring a few on the blog on Feature Friday
  • You are welcome to add my party button to your blog, but you don’t have to!

  1. We missed you Jenna, hope you enjoyed the Stitch and Craft Show. I wonder if you are just feeling low after the high of the QAL, it was such a great project for all of us taking part, and presumably took up such a lot of your time, that it would be no surprise if you were left feeling a bit down now that it is finished. I am sure all of the participants are feeling a bit the same way.

I like the sound of the Mini Quilt Competition!

Hope you get your mojo back soon.

  2. Good Morning Jenna,

I have nothing quilty for you this week but I will be popping in periodically to check out what others have accomplished.

  3. I noticed you were not blogging and I missed you . However , I just ‘assumed’ you were busy . I haven’t been online that much and won’t be this week . I go in spurts with my sewing . You have a lot going on ! Just do what you need to FOR YOU ; and nobody else ….. good luck with that ! Have a great week !

  4. You are more than entitled to a break, I was just worried because you blog so regularly…that and you’re my friend and I care when you disappear!

  5. I read a great comment in a Mary Lou Wiedman book. It said (my words) – once you get the quilt together the mystery is gone and it may not motivate you to finish it. Guess that is why sew many of us have quite a few WIP’s and UFO’s

  6. I totally understand that WIP meh feeling…. I was in a guild lecture one evening – can’t recall who was presenting -but she described something that has FREED me! She said…. “sometimes you just need to let those WIP’s go – package them up and give them to a friend – call it a “kit” and free yourself to move on!” Great advice, huh?

  7. Sure, we all need a break to revitalise the creative juices, so have fun, relax, put your feet up with a mag or something, and come back refreshed 🙂
