There’s still time to get in on Manic Monday Linky Party! So go leave a link!
The Mug Rug v.2 swap is finished! I ended up swapping with 2 partners, Kathleen from Always Sew Love and Bonnie from Wonderfully Awkward.
So I sent these:
The aqua and red one went to Bonnie. It was the first thing I’ve ever hand quilted so I hope she’s not too terribly disappointed with the look of it. I suppose she could always gift it to someone she doesn’t like 🙂
The pink and purple one went to Kathleen after her first partner disappeared.
Now. What shall we swap next? I’ve hosted 2 mug rug swaps, so I’m kinda over my infatuation with them. So what would you guys like to swap next? Pillow covers? Little pouches? Aprons? Handbags? Mini Quilts? Placemats? Any suggestions are welcome! I like the idea of doing pillow covers, but does that sound too big?
But I haven’t just been making mug rugs! No indeed! I’ve been churning out bee blocks like crazy after I read somewhere that they’ll guarantee me a place in Valhalla after I die. That’s right, isn’t it?
I’m in the Cherish group of do. Good Stitches and for our first quilt we made these blocks:
For my 3×6 bee, I’ve been making test blocks:
I’m kinda leaning more toward this one, with the flying geese. What do you think?
And in the {Sew Bee It} bee, I made these two blocks for Sarah (Issabella the Cat):
For a whole bunch of blocks to inspire you, here’s my flickr, and here’s the group Bee Blocks.

Hmm.. out of the three you listed i like pillowcases, aprons, little pouches. What about table runners? Just a thought.
You are doing such awesome work on your blocks! I really love the colors of the sewbeit blocks!
Well….I really love little pouches, but a tablerunner would be fun also! BTW your blocks are lovely!
I’ll do anything….. you know me. 😉 But I love little pouches….. Table runners would be good too- I like Angela’s idea for those- or what about a craft apron. (like those ugly 1/2 aprons they sell at the hardware store with the loops and the pockets, except not ugly. )
I think a table runner or mini quilt would be fun! I also like the idea of an apron… I’ve never made one so I’d love to try something new.
Thanks for hosting the mug rug swap!
Jennifer 🙂
I’d love to have a go at aprons.
Ooh, another swap would be fun. I’m pretty much up for anything bar the placemats (since what is technically my dining table has been my sewing table for so many years that it hasn’t seen a meal in the last decade. No, I’m not joking!)
Table runners would be fun,or a mini quilt!
Jenna,I love the flying geese block 🙂 I have not been able to find any red & aqua/turquoise combo fabric around here. What line is this and who makes it?
