Ugh. Yesterday was awful. I spent the whole day on the computer, the last part of it in total panic after someone got into my WordPress and (I think) my email too. I got an unexpected email stating that another user had been added to my wordpress site – it was some random letters for a name and I knew I hadn’t created it.
I went to my WordPress dashboard and had a look, and sure enough, there was a user there that I didn’t recognise. So I deleted all users except for myself, and changed the passwords. Then, when I went back to look at the email, it had mysteriously disappeared. Completely, as though someone had deleted it forever in my gmail while I was busy deleting users in WordPress. So then I was terrified they’d get my amazon, paypal, all that jazz. So I spent a LONG time beefing up all my passwords and checking all my accounts. Not fun. I’m still really worried and upset about it. If I ever track down the creepy jackass, he/she will be very, very sorry.
Thank goodness my lovely friend Shanna of Fiber of All Sorts (who is also hosting a sweet giveaway where you could win my quilt pdf pattern & fabric!) sent me a BIG bunch of fabrics!:

And in the evening, I thought I’d sew for a while to get my mind out of that panicked phase. But hubs had a bad day at work and needed soothing attention. So I waited till everyone was asleep and came back downstairs to my sewing room. I had just gotten in the groove when hubs came down, knocked on the door (I sew in the conservatory) and said he’d woken up feeling unwell. I think he feels better when he knows I’m in bed next to him, which is so sweet that it’s hard to complain about. So I had to wait till today to sew, but look what I made with that lovely fabric Shanna sent me!
A bag for my knitting, since I carry my knitting everywhere. I think I may have made it a little too big as it barely fits in my backpack/handbag thing, but it’s so cute!
That’s 1/3 of my 2nd sock using this Knitmore Girls pattern from Ravelry and some superwash sock yarn from Black Cat Fibres on Etsy. (I recommend both heartily!)
I put a zippy pocket in one side.
And a patch pocket on the other. I had originally planned to write a pattern or tutorial for it, but in the end I just enjoyed sewing for myself without having to stop and take pretty yet informative photos.
So even though I didn’t truly need a knitting bag, I did need some creative time to myself, and I can get on with all my other jobs tomorrow, right?
Am I the only one who does this? Do you find sewing for yourself is a kind of therapy? Do tell!

Yes yes and yes to sewing therapy! Ive had glandular fever the past few weeks and it seems like all I want to do is sew! I keep being told to rest but for me sitting at my machine making something pretty is the best rest, it makes me so happy.

I am desperate to sew, but have no white thread, which I need for what I want to do, But DD no2 has used it all!
I am getting withdrawal symptoms, so I sympathise!

I am so sorry you got hacked! That is such an awful feeling. I had my credit card info stolen after a paypal purchase on etsy. Needless to say I won’t ever use paypal again. I absolutely do sewing therapy when I’m feeling down, I’m glad it gave you a boost!

Sewing is definitely a therapy! It soothes me a lot. Then again, it’s also an addiction an I get itchy when I can’t get my fix due to time constraints. Haha.

Here’s the think I don’t get, why would someone even want to do that? Guess I’m a nice person and they are not! I have to say that I LOVE the knitting bag! I’m glad that it made you feel better. I would say that I use crafts as a kind of therapy. Sometimes though I end up hosing things up when I’m in a bad mood so I try to be in a good mood.. less problems that way 🙂
