Have you ever been about to visit somewhere and wanted to know if there’s a local quilt, yarn or sewing shop to visit while you’re there? Or you’re just trying to discover what’s in your area? It’s not easy to find the relevant crafty listings in normal business directories – Yell, even Google can let you down. Did you know, for instance, that if you sold both yarn and fabric in your store, you’d have to pay an extra listing fee to be included in both categories? No freakin’ wonder we can’t ever find the craft stores we want!
Well, Fiona Pullen has figured out a brilliant answer to that problem. Stores that sign up with the Sewing Directory can list themselves in as many categories as they wish with no extra charge. What does that mean for you? It means that no matter what you’re looking for (online seller, a local yarn or quilt or sewing shop, a local papercraft supplier) you’ll be able to pinpoint exactly which businesses to visit. And yes, I did say online.
But there’s actually a bit more going on at the Sewing Directory – she’s got listing for upcoming workshops (by city or county), there are some very nifty How-To Guides, informational articles (some of them are really fun to read) , and you can even get in on the sewing machine giveaway!
She’s got a blog, Facebook and Twitter, so it simple to keep up with the latest crafty news, and you can check out upcoming events and shows too.
All in all, The Sewing Directory is a fantastic resource for feeding your crafty habit. 🙂
