Hello! A very merry un-birthday to you! Unless it’s your birthday, in which case where is my piece of cake?
It has recently come to my attention that a few readers are as fed up with my tiresome WordPress spam detection as I am. For some reason a few commenters were constantly evaluated as leaving ‘spam’ comments. The lovely Ruth of Cherry Coloured Twist was one, and I’m quite glad she emailed me about it as it gave me a very good reason to do some research today. Badly needed research. I have, dear reader, been daily seduced by The Call of The Sewing Machine. Sorry.
So I’ve wrangled myself up an API key, and have activated Conditional Captcha as well. Here’s what should happen: You leave a comment that my Akismet service isn’t too sure about. The Conditional Captcha decides to be In Like Flynn, and you get a little Captcha thing to fill out. If you fill it out correctly, your comment should be approved and sent to my email inbox, allowing me to reply in a timely manner.
HOWEVER. I’ve not been able to test this very adequately. So if you have a moment, could you leave a comment below letting me know whether it’s doing its job? Even if you just say – captcha worked, looks ok- I’ll be quite grateful and you’ll wake tomorrow with the keys to a brand new Jaguar under your pillow. (Ok, maybe not.) But I will be very grateful, and if you’re still reading: I’ll even throw in a mini-giveaway of 2 Fat Quarters from my collection. I’ll randomly draw from the comments left on this post. (See? You do get a reward for boring work.)
And here’s a sneaky peeky look at what’s coming up:

This will be my first tutorial for Stashtacular – So tune in July 12 because if you make one you’ll be eligible to win a $25 gift certificate from 1choice4quilting.com! Free Fabric!
And coming up very soon on the wonderful Bonnie’s blog Wonderfully Awkward, my tutorial for this:

Have a lovely Thursday!

I don’t mind being a guinea pig… although I’ve never had troubles with leaving comments on your blog.
Good morning Jenna! I am looking forward to your quilt tutorials. I’ve never made hexy’s. Hope your comment problem is fixed! Blessings!
Ooh, I get to benefit from your research… Conditional Captcha noted! 🙂
Oh Jenna, you are such a lovely soul. I really wish you lived nearer so I could invite you over for a cuppa and some cake!
I wasn’t really fed up, just concerned that your site wasn’t doing what it should – and thought that if that happened to me I would rely on my regular readers to let me know!
Happy sewing (and commenting) everyone!
Captcha worked! Love the hexies. I’m in the middle of a hexie project and I’m completely addicted!
Now that I’ve found the comment box 😉 it looks like it’s working just fine.
hmm…seems to be working…
Question about the Stashtacular…can the items be made from any of the tutorials on the three hostess’ sites? Thanks!
Can’t wait to see the entire ‘sneak peek’ and the hexy’s are gorgeous!
um, 2nd try because the page just refreshed itself and where’s my comment?
I don’t even know what a Captcha is, but I will try to post this. Love the Hexie project, need to pull mine out again.
I’m not sure what Captcha is either, but I’ll try posting anyway. 🙂 I love the quilts in this post, by the way. Even a tiny peek of each is enough to see that they’re gorgeous!
Love the hexies!
Ooooooowwwwweeeeeeooooo….fabric!! Those hexies are beyond awesome. Also, the quilt above it, LOVE the fabrics! Looking forward to posting your tute!
Took me a while to find the comment box but it seems to work, can’t wait to see your new tutorial!
Ok, you convinced me to ‘help’ you out!
Hope this works ok….
Rachael.

We’ll see if this works. . . all your geeky language and all.
Looks like the new commenting system is working, but here’s another try!
This seems pretty easy (and looks good) to me!
worked for me!!
What’s the lovely red fabric in your ‘sneaky peek’ quilt??
It’s gorgeous!!
Ooh.. those hexagon quilts always look so intimidating!
Wonder what it thinks spam really is?
something with advertising or for sale or certain words?
If this shows up I guess it worked
Hum, seems to be working. Hope you get all the kinks out.
What beautfil colours you chose for your hexies and such neat stitching, I still have wibbly lines too often in my sewing!
I didn’t get a caught! I didn’t have to fill out anything.
Seems like it’s working fine! The quilt and the hexies look lovely!
Hey now, I test for a living, I don’t do it at home… well, unless there’s free fabric involved, then I can get on board with it ;o)
You make me miss my old Jag, I had one when I met my DH, my dad finally got it sold last year (after 3 years on the market) she was a beautiful girl, built the same year I was born (and only weighted a bit more!) but her a/c was broken and that would have been hell in the Texas summer (oh wait, our car right now has had a broken a/c for the past freaking year! But she also was a gas hog…)
PS please don’t send me anything if you pull my comment, I just wanted to babble about my old car 🙂
Seems to be working, fingers crossed that it does!
