Right. First things first. I’ve been thinking. I’d like to do a sew-a-long thing. But I wasn’t thinking of doing a quilt. I was thinking of sharing this:
This is the handbag I’ll be teaching at Mountbatten (if enough people sign up for the course!) – I’ll need to scan the pattern in and convert it to pdf before we can start, but would anyone be interested in learning the ins and outs of handbag sewing? (The buckle is just an embellishment – we’re talking the shape of the bag.)
Zipped interior pocket, patch pocket, bag bottoms and feet, magnetic closure, etc. Anyone? Please don’t let me be shouting to myself!!?? It takes less than a yard each of interior and exterior fabric, plus interfacing and other junk. So leave a comment if you think you’d sew along.
Anyhoo, here are the features. I promised you a weird one, and here it is:
My pal Katy over at The Littlest Thistle got asked to make an Elizabethan ruff – and here it is in all its amazing glory! I can’t imagine how much work she put into this!
My friend Regena over at The Distracted Domestic made this new liner for her Longaberger basket and was kind enough to post a mini-tute as well!
My friend and bee mate Cindy of Fluffy Sheep Quilting is hosting a Goodie Swap that you might want to get in on – I sure am! It’s going to be fun to be in a mug rug swap that I’m not also running! The little beauty above was made by one of the members of my Sew Bee Joyful bee, Fiona of Patchwork Delights. Hi, Fi! 😉
And Jessica over at Quilty Habit made an adorable skirt from a Terrain Layer Cake! I want one!
That’s all for this week! I heart you guys! Grab a button if you want – they’re up on the left hand sidebar. 🙂

Hi Jenna
I love bags and I’d like to do your bag-a-long.
I would love to learn how to make that bag. Especially if you are teaching zippers! I say throw in all the hard stuff. Most of us can do a simple bag. Teach us the tough stuff….hehhehe
I’d love to make that bag, I’ve been deliberately avoiding zippers so anything to prompt me to do it would be great!
I love bags so I’d love to sew-a-long with you!
I would love to do a sew along. It would actually make me commit to finishing something 🙂
I LOVE the bag! I would totally make one.
I would absolutely love to learn how to make the handbag!
I would love to follow along and an Elizabethan ruff isn’t so odd in the circles I run in. LOL It looks wonderful….ren faire is coming up pretty soon………..
Thank you so much Jenna!! You totally made my day 🙂 My first feature! Oh, and I love your bag – I would be interested in following along as well 🙂
I love to make bags, and I need to have the inspiration of a sew along. Count me in.
I’d love to join in a bag-a-long! And I love the embellishment on this one!
I’m jumping on the bag-A-long wagon too! sew count me in 🙂
I’m up for a bag-a-long! I am also with the Zipperphobes if I can get out of doing them I will lol so hand holding (More like butt kicking!) may be needed 🙂
I would also love to do a bag a long
I think the bag is a great idea!
I’ve never made a bag (gasp!) I’d love to try this one, with your help, of course!
Ooh, thank you so much for my first feature :o)
Also love your bag, a bag-along would be fun
Gorgeous bag! I love the Elizabethan ruffle, I’m guessing someone wanted it for a play or something?
Thank you so much for the blanket btw, I just sent you an e-mail as well! 🙂 x
I love making bags but haven’t made one with all the features you mention so I would definitely learn something new. I did want to leave you a message on your recent post asking about a sew along with either bags or aprons but blogger wasn’t playing along 🙁
