Takin’ Some Time Off

Hey all, hope you’ve had a decent Easter week. Our week has been a weird one, what with all the sorting and packing up. I did manage to get in some sewing yesterday. I’m desperately seeking my lost sewing mojo – I’m not sure when I lost it, but I SO do not feel like sewing right now. So I started a pillow for a charity auction, which is ~okay~ but I’m not all that excited about it:

It’s about 2/3 done I suppose, then I’ll need to baste, quilt and assemble the pillow with an envelope back. I know zippers look frightfully impressive, but I’m lazy. And it’s a freakin’ cushion. :p

And to show more about how I plan work like this (ie work that can’t be planned easily on the computer), here’s my plan:

I’m sure I could explain it all to you, but it wouldn’t make much sense. Basically it’s a mixture of plan and flying by the seat of my pants.

So I’m taking a few days off to hang out with Mike while he’s got the time off work. I’ll be back for Manic Monday Linky Party! In the meantime, we’re going to hang out with jugglers at the BJC and I’m going to knit like crazy. Maybe some time away from sewing will make me want to sew, sew, sew. *fingers crossed*

P.S. Because the Google Overlords want to force the entire planet into using their crappy social application, my Google Friend Connect has been cancelled. But you can still get me in your Google Reader (or any other reader) by clicking on the Feedburner (RSS) link below. 🙂

  1. Oh juggling balls to the lost mojo… Sure it’ll meander back eventually, dragging its loose threads behind it 😉

  2. We all lose the old mojo once in a while! I am sure you will get it back in no time and producing work that we will all be drooling over soon!

  3. Enjoy your time off! I will be doing the same thing next week while Aaron and I are in Victoria. I can’t wait for our first ever no baby vacation 🙂

  4. I recently went through a slump, my mojo to stitch was just not there and yet I did get it back so relax, enjoy friends, family, long walks, don’t rush because when it does come back you will stitch like crazy.

  5. I love your planning by the seat ……
sewing mojo is gone here too.but I know why. Once I’m not keeping a little dog from running and jumping and playing with his brother I can pay attention to me and mine.

    Have fun away
