Welcome: Eclectic Maker!

I’d like to introduce you to an exciting UK fabric & craft store, Eclectic Maker. They’re an online-only store at the moment and supply designer fabrics for patchwork, quilting, dressmaking and craft.  I LOVE their shop. When you click to look at something, it shows you everything, instead of 9 or 12 products at a time – so no extra surfing around! Here’s what Simon told me about their shop and goals:

We started trading nearly a year ago, setting out to provide an exciting alternative for the sewing community, with the freshest designs and whole fabric collections to choose from.  We have fabric ranges from internationally renowned designers as well as newcomers.  We supply our fabric in pre-cut fabric bundles for quilters, to take the hard work out of matching – these include fat quarters, charm packs, layer cakes and jelly rolls.  We also supply continuous lengths for dressmaking and larger projects.  Our designer fabrics are complemented by an ever-expanding range of sewing patterns, haberdashery, notions and basics, including Vilene and Quilt Batting.

We believe in giving excellent customer service and take great pride in providing a quality service that our customers can appreciate – we are happy just to take a call or answer a query by e-mail if it results in a happy customer.  We offer a fast turn-around as standard and every purchase is backed up by our ‘no quibble’ returns policy.

Ed Emberley Happy Drawing Frogs, FQ £3.50:

In the future our goal is to provide a one-stop-shop for our customers, offering pretty well everything needed to complete a variety of sewing projects.  In a nutshell, we aspire to be ‘fabulous fabrics and more’.

Lucie Summers Fabric Pack Summersville in Scandi, just £16.80!

Kaffe Fassett Design Roll Classics in Blue, £34.95:

So please go check out their huge range of fabrics, from Andalucia 2012 by Patty Young, Summersville by our very own awesome Lucie Summers, Happy Drawing by Ed Emberley for Cloud9, and Trade Winds by Lily Ashbury. They’ve even got Premier Lord by Dan Bennett with its delicious Egyptian flavours.

Also be sure to look at their large and lovely selection of buttons (important for you seamstresses and knitters out there!) and ribbons.

And I’d like to publicly thank Simon for supporting me in pursuing my dream of making a living through sewing and teaching others how to sew. It really means a lot to me.

  1. Another excuse for some online shopping, as if I needed one! Great though to find a UK supplier so I won’t get hammered by VAT and whatever sundry charge the PO can dream up for my packages 🙂

  2. I’m really in love with the Andalucia 2012 in Evergreen! I’m hoping to get a fat quarter bundle to make a quilt with for myself and my husband!!! Love it!! Hope your knees are feeling better! 🙂
