Hello! Well, I finished the Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson – I think I read about 300 pages yesterday! I’m kinda sad it’s over, and it was so good the second time around that I’m tempted to jump right back in and reread, but I think I’ll wait a few years instead. By then I won’t remember much except the general outline, so it’ll all be a pleasant surprise again!
I’ve managed to get back in the sewing room a bit too! Julie, the lovely editor at Sewing World Magazine has asked me to design and make a quilt complete with pattern for the Nov or Dec editions of the magazine, so once I get my solids from Mandy over at Simply Solids I’ll be starting – in the meantime I’m hoping to get some bee blocks done so I can stop freaking out over them.
Speaking of Simply Solids, have you looked at Mandy’s new store website? It’s very nice and easy to navigate. She’s got the best selection of Kona Solids in the UK, and there are all kinds of other goodies on there too, like this Lakehouse labels fabric:

Isn’t this adorable fabric? Only £5.50 per half metre.
Also, if you’re looking for crafty ideas for the summer, you’ll find tons of crafty goodness over at Suzy’s Sitcom. She’s got a TON of sweet tutorials, so if you need kid activities, Suzy’s Sitcom can definitely help!

Also, I’d like to introduce a new shop, Plan For Mondays. It’s run by my friend Richard and his wife. Right now she’s selling handmade cushions made out of vintage fabrics. This Martini one is my personal favourite:
And if you like it, best get in there now, as it’s on sale for only £19 and it’s totally OOAK!
See you all tomorrow! 🙂
P.S. Because the Google Overlords want to force the entire planet into using their crazy social application, my Google Friend Connect widget has been cancelled. But you can still get me in your Google Reader (or any other reader) by clicking on the Feedburner (RSS) link below. 🙂
