Yay! It’s Friday! I’ve got Buzz home sick (boo!) but at least it means he’s here, which I like. Not to get all gushy, but he and Savi are my favourite people to hang out with, even when they’re feeling poorly.
Not that he’s paying much attention to me. He got a new HTC phone yesterday. It’s the first really pimp mobile he’s ever had, so every time I look over at him, he’s typing into his phone or checking out the ringtones, etc. LOL, a boy with his toy!

And now on to Twitter. First, I have to confess: I’ve been VERY late checking my emails. Which explains why I didn’t know about the 8 NOV not-exactly-supportive comment on my HTML Email Me Button Tutorial until yesterday. Go on, you can go read the comment if you want. I’ll wait.
When I first read it, I was kinda angry and VERY hurt. See, I was teaching myself HTML and the Email Me button code was one of the first practical html coding I ever worked out by myself. So although the button may or may not be all that useful, it’s a tutorial that represents my first steps into any real web design. It’s not an amazing tutorial or anything, but I did write the whole code and tutorial myself, so what am I supposed to do? Erase it? Put in a disclaimer saying that although the tutorial is probably correct, don’t bother reading it as it’s obsolete?
I really wasn’t sure that I even had a right to be hurt – I worried that I may have been oversensitive. Yesterday was a stressful day – We had to shop for hours to find school trousers to fit Savi, my plantar fasciitis hurt before we even started shopping, my mobile phone is acting up, and Savi had a singing tryout that we were both super nervous about all day long. And it looks like Buzz has to go on a business trip, and he hates flying. Like HATES.
And then I come home, try to get caught up on emails, and find an ‘I hate to break it to you, but your tutorial is pointless’ comment. I was crushed.
And here comes Twitter into the story. I sent out a tweet with the link saying I was a bit hurt by the comment and should I reply? I didn’t even think anyone would answer, but I got a load of tweets, all supportive.
I’m telling you, if you are a craft blogger, you need Twitter. Blogging is a great way to connect with other crafters, but Twitter actually makes those people your real friends. There isn’t a single person I talked to yesterday who I wouldn’t be overjoyed to take out for a coffee. Seriously, it’s a lot of fun and very, very good for your crafting soul. Twitter keeps me motivated.

Oh no! That was a bit of a poopy thing for her to do! I made a button and was ridiculously proud of my self, this html malarkey isn’t easy! You should definitely keep the tutorial up, if only to demonstrate that you can do it! I think its a great thing you did, I can destroy a blog in seconds by tinkering with html!!
I joined twitter last week, and so far have done…. nothing, a bit like facebook, it all seems so daunting!

What an awful comment. I personally use web based mail, but would never leave a comment like that especially when you are helping other people figure out html. Personally I think it is great when I see a post like yours to help me (someone new to the blogging world) figure things out a bit better. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Jenna!!! Keep smiling!

Just keep going. You have a lovely knack of putting things into easy language, even idiots like me can understand. I suspect the comment was meant to be helpful, and if you were not just learning ( I have no idea how to dop any of those things- help, at the moment I cannot even access a search engine-they have disappeared) it might be more useful??
Anyway, I want you to keep doing these very informative tutes!

Oh man, who pooped on her coco pops? I have to admit, there are times when I may *think* things like that, but then my thought to hand filter kicks in and says ‘it’s nice to be nice’ and ‘just walk away and don’t start an argument even if you think you’re right’ So I may seeth on occasions, but I tend not to mention it to the blogger in question ;o)
