The QAL Rocks & My Feet Suck Big Time

Want to leave a link on Manic Monday Linky Party? You still can!

I hope your Tuesday was better than mine – As if the stupid plantar fasciitis in both feet isn’t bad enough, I went back to the foot lady and she told me that my ingrown toenail that I had fixed back in December has had a ‘regrowth’, which happens in 5% of cases. Harrumph. So I will probably have to have the procedure done all over again today. But that’s better than having the whole damn toenail removed, which I was really dreading. In fact, I was quite surprised to realise I’m quite vain about my feet. As soon as the weather gets warm enough, I’m in sandals for months, and give myself pedicures regularly. I was so frightened that I’d have to wear shoes that cover my toes, but it looks like I won’t have to worry about it – so there’s the silver lining, I guess!

If you had issues getting to yesterday’s tutorial, I am very sorry. I think I’ve fixed the problem – it appears the blog is much busier than I expected it to be, and I had blown my bandwidth allowance for the month. But now I’ve got 150% more so it shouldn’t happen again anytime soon. It cost about £1 for every %. I think I should start a hosting business.

The ladies in my Sew. Happy. Quilt. Quilt Along are coming along marvelously well, and I’m very proud of them. Some of them have really stretched outside their comfort zone, and I think it’s paid off well, with a number of excellent blocks. Here are but a few…

1. Block 11, 2. Sew. Happy. Quilt. QAL Block 10 – HSTs, 3. Paper piecing ; my 1st attempt – not sure I’ll be doing it again !!!! my points aren’t that good and it doesn’t match up good !!!, 4. QAL Block 10 , 5. Sew. Happy., 6. Sew. Happy. Quilt. QAL. Block 10, 7. sew happy quilt, 8. Churn Dash Redux, 9. Diamond Peek a Boo, 10. Churn Dash Redux, 11. Churn Dash, 12. Sew. Happy. Quilt. QAL Block 8

Aren’t they lovely? We’re only 1 tutorial away from assembling our quilt tops – how exciting! And only 18 days away from the prizes! Awesome!

Everyone’s been doing a great job on the QAL, and you’ve done a great job hosting it! I’d totally forgotten there were prizes too, now there’s the incentive to get it all done in time!

Sorry about the ongoing foot issues though, but glad it’s not the full nail removal thing for you

We have the same feet, as you know, so I definitely feel your pain. My own tootsies are misbehaving again too.

    Love all the QAL blocks!

  3. Mrs.Pickles says:

lots of great work. I gotta get my butt in gear and get caught up!

Sorry to hear about your toe!

  4. Claire Jain says:

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that my injured toe buddy has had a setback. I know it’s frustrating. Mine’s giving me less trouble, so I sucked it up and did a bit of running today. I hope you’re right behind me on the road to recovery!

  5. good grief ! I’m so sorry about your feet . *#$@ feet . I forgot about PRIZES also . oh my !! Your blog is growing ; that’s GREAT , except for the bandwith money . How much about did you have to pay in american money ; sorry ; I’m not familiar w/ UK money ……. I hope your feet get better real soon !

  6. I have that in one foot and the only thing that has helped me was getting a pair of Shape Ups shoes – the ones that supposedly exercise your butt (haven’t seen that yet!). They take all the weight off your heel. Mine only hurts when I give in and wear a different pair of shoes. Might work for you.

I can’t wait until I can catch up with these! I only finished the first 6!! I’m hoping life will slow down soon and I will have the time to finish and my quilt will turn out fantastic!
