On Manic Monday Linky Party, a lady named Sarah from So Sarah Sews left a link to a block she had made. This block is important because it’s going to be part of a quilt she’s donating to two foster kids, both girls, whom her mother has worked with for many years.

They’re having a bit of a rough time, and Sarah’s mum would like to give them each a quilt – something which is THEIRS, no matter what house they’re in. So Sarah is asking for donated blocks (12″) in pink and purple. It’s okay to only make one. She needs them by 7 October – do you think you could help? She’s set up a Flickr group and if you follow the link and leave your flickr name in the comments she’ll send you an invite. I will be making one block at least. One of my best friends when I was a kid was a foster child and she always felt separate from the family she lived with. So I have a soft spot for foster kids.
Zia Maria Designs posted a list of 25 boxy bag and pouch tutorials, so if you’re needing a birthday gift, I bet you can find at least one tutorial that will help!
Have you ever wanted to make a chair out of a suitcase? Kim of Kimberly Ann Blog made one and published a little tutorial. It’s pretty cute. 🙂
My bee mate Melissa of Love Affair With My Brother published a tutorial for making this sweet little quilt – AND she’s having a giveaway sponsored by our good friends at Fat Quarter Shop!
That’s all I have time for today! If you were featured and want a button for your blog, they’re up there on the left sidebar. Enjoy! I’ll see you Monday. 🙂
